The name Cappadocia is derived from its ancient Persian origin as ‘Katpatukya’ meaning “Land of Beautiful Horses” as mentioned by our tour guide. The area has experienced various civilizations in different phase of time. I visited this place in the month of October, 2016. As you can see in pictures it had both the shades, green and yellow. If you research on internet about capadoccia what do you find?

Location

Geographically Cappadocia is falls in three different provinces in central Anatolian region. Largely spread in Nevşehir province, partly in Kayseri province and partly in Aksaray province.

Connectivity

The location is very well connected with different options of air transport, rail transport and road transport. For saving time of our journey we took Turkish Airlines flight from TAV Istanbul Ataturk Airport to Nevşehir Kapadokya Airport. We started at 06:15 hours and landed at 07:35 hours. Similarly, for return journey we took same airlines and airports we started at 19:35 hours and landed by 20:45 hours. There is an optional airport at Kayseri, connected to Cappadocia region. The one we took is nearest to the actual cave area. As we have hired a tour company for guidance, we were provided with pick and drop facility for airport transport. For adventure people also take a road trip from Istanbul and cover multiple locations.

Time / Climate

If you have doubt in mind about when to visit this place. This place can be visited anytime of the year as it has beautiful natural setup. If you consider activity wise, summer should be better option. Between May to October. Otherwise its quite chilled during winter. In our group of tours, few of the tourists who were actually having their transit flight via Turkey and they just decided to cover the Cappadocia visit. As you check on available online options, there are various activities that you can do in and around these areas. Few of the activities are aerial view of Cappadocia in hot air balloon, walk through beautiful, calm and quite river valleys, take a horse ride, quad biking and can visit well maintained underground cities and many more. Our visit was during start of autumn and end of summer. We could see greenery as well as autumn all the shades of brown. The temperature was quite chilled in mornings and evenings. You can always have your weather forecast helping you to guide in this aspect. For us it was the best weather to visit.

Geological setup of the area…

I feel as if I am writing my field trip report in Geology. Without this information it wont be geo-tourism site. It has a natural setup. Just going and clicking photos and spending time is not the only purpose. There are studies that reveal the story of natural forces acting here and creating an amazing natural marvels! A lay man who has never studied geology but visit these places would like to read this information. I am sure most of the blogs or any online sources will only give insight on stay, food, culture, its heritage and activity related information. I am sure you will find this place more interesting once you read here about how, this beautiful land-form is formed.

To understand the tectonic setup of the region we need to have a broader look on the movement of plates. As seen in the reference image (education purpose only) the country Turkey is located on active faults of colliding plates. Arabian plate, Eurasian plate and Anatolian plates have collided in the geologic past (millions of years ago). This collision of continental plates gave rise to a subduction zone (plate subsides down the other plate) and also uplifting mountains (plate slides over other plate) and deformed folds and fault structures, which can be widely observed while travelling across the Turkey via road journey. . Subduction along the plate margins is still active in the Mediterranean Sea region which can be very well noticed by the number seismic activities along the fault zones.

Stop Ageing

Stop Ageing: The Art of Growing Younger from Within

“You cannot stop the clock, but you can stop letting it define you.”

Walk through any shopping mall or scroll through social media, and you’ll be bombarded with promises to “reverse ageing.” Anti-wrinkle creams, collagen drinks, cosmetic procedures, stem cell therapies, miracle diets, expensive supplements, and the latest skincare trends or hair do all claim to hold the secret to youth. Maybe a friend or relative who already makes posts on their social media with the filters. Well the world that we live in is changing dramatically. Yet, have you ever met someone in their seventies who radiates joy, walks with energy, speaks with clarity, and inspires everyone around them? Conversely, have you met someone in their thirties who appears exhausted, stressed, and emotionally drained? The difference is not merely biological age—it is the quality of the mind. The body records the story that the mind writes. This article is not about cosmetic interventions or chasing eternal youth. It is about understanding ageing from a holistic perspective—where the mind, body, lifestyle, and awareness work together. True rejuvenation is less about hiding wrinkles and more about cultivating vitality, resilience, and peace.

Well do not miss all the chapters of this blog. I am more a spiritual yogi. With personal experiences. I will mention you an actual antiageing technique from the yogic world. This is quite a thoery if you have never experienced any of the yogic world. It may sound a bit esoteric but its pure science where you will not find this type of infromation in Anatomy of human or any scientific journals.

We Cannot Stop Time, But We Can Stop Premature Ageing

Every living being ages. It is a natural biological process. The goal should never be to deny ageing but to age gracefully. A face lined with wisdom often carries more beauty than one frozen by fear of growing older.

Cosmetic enhancements may temporarily alter appearance, but they cannot eliminate chronic stress, loneliness, poor sleep, unhealthy habits, or emotional exhaustion. These internal factors often influence how we look and feel far more than any external treatment. The real question is not, “How do I look younger?” but rather:

“How do I remain vibrant, curious, mentally clear, and physically capable as I grow older?”

The Mind Ages Before the Body

Many people assume the body grows old first. In reality, the mind often begins to show signs of fatigue long before the body does. Think about a child.

They laugh wholeheartedly, recover quickly from setbacks, explore with curiosity, and sleep deeply. Now compare that with many adults. The body may still be relatively young, yet the mind is burdened with constant worry, unfinished tasks, financial pressures, digital overload, and emotional baggage. Mental exhaustion accumulates over time. It subtly changes posture, facial expressions, sleep quality, decision-making, and energy levels. Over months and years, these patterns can influence physical health and how we age.

The Invisible Weight of Mental Exhaustion

Imagine carrying a backpack. On the first day, it feels light. Each day, someone quietly adds another stone—an unresolved conflict, a work deadline, financial stress, resentment, lack of sleep, fear of the future. Eventually, the backpack becomes so heavy that every step feels difficult. Mental exhaustion works much the same way.

We may not notice the gradual build-up, but its effects can become visible:

  • Persistent fatigue
  • Reduced motivation
  • Irritability
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Disturbed sleep
  • Emotional reactivity

This doesn’t mean ageing is caused solely by the mind, but chronic stress and emotional strain can accelerate many of the processes associated with ageing. Learning to lighten this mental backpack is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves.

The Brain’s Rhythms: Beta, Alpha, Theta, and Beyond

Our brain is constantly producing electrical activity, often described in terms of brainwave patterns. These patterns are associated with different states of consciousness.

Beta – The Busy Mind

During most waking hours, we operate predominantly in Beta. This state supports analytical thinking, problem-solving, conversations, planning, and decision-making.However, prolonged high-alert Beta—common in today’s fast-paced world—can feel mentally exhausting. When the mind remains in a constant state of urgency, it rarely has the opportunity to rest.

Alpha – The Gateway to Relaxation

When we slow down through meditation, deep breathing, prayer, or quiet reflection, we often spend more time in Alpha states. Alpha is associated with calm focus, creativity, and relaxation.

People often notice:

  • Reduced stress
  • Greater clarity
  • Improved emotional balance

Theta – Deep Inner Awareness

Theta states are commonly associated with deep meditation, vivid imagination, and the transition between wakefulness and sleep. Some practitioners describe experiences of profound stillness, heightened intuition, or creative insights during such states. Not everyone experiences Theta consciously, and these experiences vary greatly from person to person.

Delta – Deep Rest

Delta activity is most commonly associated with deep, restorative sleep.

Quality sleep is essential for physical recovery, memory consolidation, and overall health. While we cannot consciously remain in Delta during normal waking life, supporting healthy sleep is one of the most effective ways to maintain vitality as we age.

The Mental Journey Shapes the Physical Body

Every emotion leaves an imprint. Smile often, and the face naturally reflects warmth. Spend years worrying, and tension may settle into the forehead, jaw, shoulders, or posture. Our bodies adapt to our repeated habits and emotional patterns. This is not to say every illness or wrinkle is caused by mindset. Ageing is a complex biological process influenced by genetics, environment, nutrition, sleep, and medical conditions. However, our mental habits can meaningfully influence how we experience ageing and how we care for ourselves along the way.

Fancy Food Habits and Everyday Reality

Today’s world is obsessed with “superfoods.”

Goji berries.

Matcha.

Chia seeds.

Activated charcoal.

Golden milk.

Exotic supplements.

Many of these foods can certainly be part of a healthy diet, but there is no single food that stops ageing. Sometimes we forget that generations before us thrived on simple, wholesome meals.

Fresh vegetables.

Seasonal fruits.

Whole grains.

Lentils.

Traditional home-cooked recipes.

The secret was often consistency rather than novelty. A beautifully packaged supplement cannot compensate for chronic sleep deprivation, emotional stress, or a sedentary lifestyle.

An Anecdote: The Grandmother and the Smoothie

A young professional proudly visited his grandmother carrying an expensive “anti-ageing” smoothie packed with imported ingredients. “Grandma,” he said, “this drink slows ageing.” She smiled, served him freshly cooked lentils, vegetables, homemade yogurt, and warm flatbread. Then she asked, “Did your smoothie teach you to eat on time? Did it help you sleep well? Did it remind you to laugh with your family?” He laughed. Her point was simple. Health is rarely built from one miracle product. It is built from thousands of ordinary choices repeated over many years.

Another Story: The Two Gardeners

Two gardeners planted identical trees. One watered his tree daily but constantly worried about whether it would grow quickly. But the second gardener had also enjoyed the journey. Our bodies are much like those trees. We cannot force youth to remain forever. But we can create the conditions for healthy growth throughout life.

Movement Is Medicine

The body was designed to move.

Walking.

Stretching.

Yoga.

Strength training.

Dancing.

Gardening.

Or any hobby.

Playing with grandchildren.

Movement is less about chasing a perfect physique and more about maintaining mobility, balance, strength, and independence. The best exercise is often the one you enjoy enough to continue.

Relationships Keep Us Young

Loneliness can weigh heavily on well-being. Meaningful conversations, shared meals, laughter, volunteering, and spending time with loved ones nourish emotional health in ways no cosmetic treatment can. Many people who age gracefully have one thing in common: They remain connected—to family, friends, community, purpose, or nature.

Curiosity Is an Anti-Ageing Habit

One of the greatest indicators of youth is curiosity.

Learn a language.

Read books.

Take up painting.

Play music.

Travel.

Volunteer.

Ask questions.

The brain continues adapting throughout life, and staying mentally engaged can contribute to cognitive health and a sense of purpose.

Facts

Meditation: A Daily Reset

Meditation is not about escaping life. It is about meeting life with greater clarity. Even ten to twenty minutes of quiet sitting each day can become a valuable pause in an otherwise busy schedule. Rather than trying to stop every thought, simply observing the mind with patience can reduce the feeling of being overwhelmed. Over time, many practitioners describe becoming calmer, more resilient, and more present.

What Does It Really Mean to Stop Ageing?

Perhaps the title is a little misleading. No one stops biological ageing. But we can stop ageing unnecessarily through chronic stress, neglect, and unhealthy habits. We can stop comparing ourselves endlessly with others. We can stop believing that youth exists only in smooth skin. We can stop carrying emotional burdens that no longer serve us. And we can begin cultivating habits that support vitality, wisdom, and joy.

Age Gracefully, Live Fully

The most beautiful people are not always the youngest. They are often those who have learned to smile through hardship, remain curious despite challenges, forgive generously, care deeply, and live authentically. Ageing gracefully is not about resisting time—it is about walking with it. Every wrinkle can become a story. Every grey hair, a lesson. Every year, an opportunity to grow not only older but wiser. The true measure of youth is not found in the mirror. It is found in your enthusiasm to wake up each morning, your willingness to learn something new, your capacity to love, and your ability to find peace within yourself. When the mind is clear, the heart is light, and the body is cared for with kindness, age becomes less of a burden and more of a privilege. Perhaps that is the closest any of us will ever come to truly “stopping ageing.” Soon posting a video on Yoga with Kanchan Vikram youtube channel and Facebook page with same name. Make sure you are connected.

A luminous meditation illustration labels the seven chakras and their Sanskrit names along the spine.

Let me explain you real anti ageing technique from yogic world.

Yogic anti ageing
As we have seen, ageing is more a mental than a physical aspect. Here is something from yogic world that real antiageing happens. More on 7 chakras and its effects blog will soon come. Here I will explain it to you in very simple layman language. Some of you non-believers who think it is esoteric or pseudoscience. I live it on your perception to understand this aspect. Even for believers it will be quite difficult to understand what this is? Let this be in theory form. Do not try this, it is learnt only under guidance of a proper Guru/ teacher. For example if you read and try it. It is like you are in kindergarten and talking about doing complex surgery. No, you will need to finish basic schooling and take dedicated education before you actually perform the surgery.  Reref the image above. The Bindu continuously secretes a cool, rejuvenating fluid called Amrita or Soma (often translated as the nectar of immortality or the moon center). To stop the aging process, the yogi must activate the Vishuddha Chakra (Throat). When the Vishuddha is awakened, it catches the dripping nectar from the Bindu before it falls into the digestive fire below. The throat chakra purifies this nectar. If the throat center is dormant, the fluid turns to decay; if it is active, the nectar remains pure and can be redistributed to rejuvenate the entire physical body, preventing cellular decay. To complete the loop and send this processed energy safely down to centers like the Swadhisthana without it being destroyed, yogis employ specific physical seals (Mudras) and locks (Bandhas)

Khechari Mudra: This is the primary practice used to capture the fluid. The practitioner curls the tongue back past the soft palate into the nasal cavity to directly block, taste, and redirect the falling nectar.

Jalandhara Bandha (The Throat Lock): By dropping the chin tightly to the chest, the throat channel is compressed. This physically and energetically blocks the nectar from dropping into the stomach’s solar fire, storing it instead at the throat level to be infused into the nervous system.

Vipareeta Karani (Inverted Psychic Attitude): Often practiced as a shoulder-stand or headstand, this inversion literally uses gravity to reverse the flow. The solar fire (Manipura/Swadhisthana) is now on top, and the lunar nectar (Bindu/Vishuddha) is below. This configuration allows the energy of the Swadhisthana to draw up the cooling qualities of the throat chakra, altering the aging dynamic.

What Happens When You Chant Mantras?

What Happens When You Chant Mantras? Understanding the Journey and the Experiences Along the Way

Mantra chanting is one of the oldest spiritual practices known to humanity. For thousands of years, sages, monks, yogis, and householders have used sacred sounds to quiet the mind, deepen awareness, and cultivate inner peace. Today, mantra chanting has gained popularity worldwide, not only among spiritual seekers but also among people looking for stress relief, better focus, and emotional well-being.

Yet one question continues to arise among beginners:

“What actually happens when you chant mantras regularly?”

The answer is both simple and profound.

Mantra chanting is not magic, nor is it merely repeating a few words. It is a disciplined practice that gradually transforms the mind, emotions, and sometimes even the way you perceive the world around you. While every individual’s journey is unique, there are many common experiences reported by practitioners across different traditions.

Let’s explore what happens during this fascinating journey.

What Is a Mantra?

The Sanskrit word Mantra is derived from two words:

  • Manas – Mind
  • Tra – Instrument or tool

A mantra is therefore considered a tool for the mind.

Unlike ordinary words, traditional mantras are believed to carry specific vibrational qualities. Whether one views them from a spiritual perspective or a psychological one, repeating the same sound rhythmically helps reduce mental distractions and brings attention into the present moment.

Some popular mantras include:

  • Om (AUM)
  • Gayatri Mantra
  • Mahamrityunjaya Mantra
  • Om Namah Shivaya
  • Hare Krishna Mahamantra
  • Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya

Each mantra has its own purpose and significance according to different spiritual traditions.

The First Few Days: Calming the Busy Mind

When you first begin chanting, your biggest challenge is usually your own mind.

You may notice that while chanting:

  • Random thoughts keep appearing.
  • You remember unfinished work.
  • Your shopping list suddenly becomes important.
  • You wonder whether you’re chanting correctly.
  • You become aware of every small sound around you.

This is completely normal.

Many beginners believe they are “doing meditation wrong.”

In reality, this is often the first time they become aware of just how active their mind really is.

With regular practice, however, these distractions begin to reduce naturally.

The First Changes You Notice

After a few days or weeks of consistent chanting, many practitioners notice subtle improvements.

Greater Mental Calm

Your thoughts don’t disappear.

Instead, they become less overwhelming.

Situations that previously caused anxiety may no longer affect you as deeply.

You become more capable of responding rather than reacting.

Well before we see this in detail one must know we do not sing mantras. We channt! One setting is 108 times chanting any mantra. Chanting helps invoke a particular energy associated with the mantra. Each mantra is associated with a certain form of energy. Or in a layman’s language each mantra is a pure sound. To utter that sound in one breath, one must practice how much to breathe in or how a particular sanskrit mantra needs to be pronounced. You will find lots of videos online where people are singing the mantras. If you are having an aim behind practicing any mantra. Please do find the correct way of chanting any mantra. For example Gayatri Mantra when chanted in different times of day it will give different effects. Morning (Dawn): The life force is visualized as Gayatri, a young girl dressed in a glowing red or pink attire, symbolizing the soft, creative light of the rising sun and the awakening of prana. Afternoon (Noon): The life force becomes Savitri, a radiant young woman shining in brilliant gold or white, representing the peak, intense solar energy that fuels actions and stamina. Evening (Dusk): The life force transitions into Sarasvati, a wise, mature woman adorned in deep blue or dark garments, reflecting the serene sky of twilight, internalization, and the merging of energy back into silence. So mantras chanted in different time of the day gives you different results. The tantra or method matter significantly at the same time where you sit and recite, which direction you face and sit and recite, the lunar cycle you are in will all matter to the purpose and result of your recitation. It has to be associated with the few of  7 chakras in your body. I will be posting some simple explanatory videos in this context. The mind becomes trained to return to one object—the mantra.

Over time, this ability carries into daily life.

You may notice:

  • Better focus while studying.
  • Increased productivity at work.
  • Improved memory.
  • Less mental fatigue.

Better Emotional Balance

Life’s problems do not disappear.

But your relationship with them changes.

Many practitioners report feeling:

  • Less irritated
  • More patient
  • Less anxious
  • More emotionally stable

The mantra becomes an anchor during difficult moments.

Physical Experiences During Chanting

Many people wonder whether physical sensations are normal.

They often are.

Some commonly reported experiences include:

Tingling Sensations

Some people feel tingling in:

  • Hands
  • Feet
  • Spine
  • Forehead

This may simply be related to relaxation, posture, breathing, or heightened body awareness.

Vibrations

Some practitioners describe feeling vibrations inside the body.

These may occur:

  • Around the chest
  • In the throat
  • At the forehead
  • Throughout the body

Different spiritual traditions interpret these sensations differently. From a physiological perspective, they may also arise from focused attention, breathing patterns, muscle relaxation, or vocal resonance.

Warmth or Coolness

Some people notice:

  • Warm palms
  • Warm chest
  • Cool forehead
  • Changes in body temperature

These experiences vary widely and are not universal.

Feeling Light or Heavy

Occasionally practitioners report:

  • Feeling extremely light
  • Feeling rooted to the ground
  • Feeling that the body has disappeared
  • Feeling unusually relaxed

These experiences often occur during deep states of concentration and relaxation.

Emotional Experiences

As the mind becomes quieter, emotions sometimes become stronger before they settle.

Many practitioners experience:

  • Unexpected tears
  • Joy without any reason
  • Gratitude
  • Compassion
  • Forgiveness
  • Emotional release

Old memories may arise.

Past hurts may surface.

This doesn’t necessarily mean something is wrong.

Sometimes, becoming quieter allows us to notice emotions that were previously buried beneath constant mental activity.

Changes in Daily Life

The greatest benefits often happen outside your meditation session.

Many people notice they begin to:

  • Speak more gently.
  • Listen more carefully.
  • Judge others less.
  • Worry less about the future.
  • Feel more grateful.
  • Become less reactive.

Friends and family sometimes notice these changes before the practitioner does.

Deepening Awareness

After months or years of regular practice, some practitioners describe experiences that are difficult to explain with ordinary language. These experiences are not guaranteed, nor should they be expected.

Some include:

Silence Between Thoughts

Instead of constant thinking, brief moments of complete mental silence may arise.

These moments can feel deeply peaceful.

Expanded Awareness

Some people report feeling:

  • More connected with nature.
  • Deep appreciation for ordinary moments.
  • Greater awareness of their surroundings.
  • Increased mindfulness throughout the day.

Timelessness

During deep chanting, some practitioners lose track of time.

A session that feels like ten minutes may actually last an hour.

Continuous Mantra

Advanced practitioners sometimes report that the mantra continues mentally even after they stop chanting.

It seems to repeat effortlessly in the background of awareness.

Many traditions consider this a sign that the mind has become deeply familiar with the mantra.

Spiritual Experiences

Many spiritual traditions describe profound experiences that may occur through long-term mantra practice.

Some practitioners report:

  • Feeling surrounded by peace.
  • Experiencing overwhelming love.
  • Feeling connected to the Divine.
  • Deep devotion.
  • Inner bliss.
  • A sense of unity with all life.

Others describe vivid dreams, symbolic visions, or moments of intuitive clarity.

These experiences are deeply personal. Whether they are interpreted as spiritual, psychological, or symbolic depends on one’s beliefs and perspective.

Importantly, having—or not having—such experiences does not determine the value or success of one’s practice.

Scientific Perspective

Modern research has explored several potential benefits of repetitive chanting and meditation.

Studies suggest that mantra repetition may:

  • Reduce perceived stress.
  • Improve attention and concentration.
  • Support emotional regulation.
  • Encourage slower, more regular breathing.
  • Promote relaxation by engaging the parasympathetic nervous system.
  • Improve overall feelings of well-being.

Scientists generally explain these benefits through mechanisms such as focused attention, breathing patterns, repetition, and relaxation rather than attributing them to supernatural causes.

Research is ongoing, and while many findings are promising, experiences vary from person to person.

The Four Levels of Speech: A Journey Within

Ancient Indian philosophy describes four stages of speech, offering a symbolic framework for understanding how thoughts arise before they become words.

A museum exhibit presents the four traditional stages of speech through layered artistic scenes and Sanskrit symbolism.

Vaikhari

This is spoken speech—the words we express aloud. It is the outermost level.

Madhyama

Madhyama represents the internal dialogue before words are spoken. It is the conversation we constantly have with ourselves. This inner narration can shape our emotional state. A mind filled with self-criticism, fear, or resentment may experience life very differently from one cultivated with kindness and perspective.

Pashyanti

At this level, ideas are said to exist before they become fully formed words. Many artists, musicians, and scientists describe moments where solutions or inspirations seem to arrive as complete impressions rather than step-by-step thoughts.

Para

Para is described in many yogic traditions as the most subtle level—the silent source from which thought and speech ultimately emerge. Whether understood spiritually or symbolically, practices such as meditation and mantra chanting are intended to help quiet the mind and increase awareness of this inner stillness.

Common Misconceptions

“I don’t feel anything.”

This is perfectly normal.

Many people experience profound benefits without dramatic sensations.

Consistency matters far more than unusual experiences.

“I saw lights.”

Some practitioners report seeing flashes of light or colors while meditating. These can occur for various reasons, including changes in attention, visual processing, or spiritual interpretation depending on one’s tradition.

Rather than assigning immediate meaning to such experiences, simply observe them and continue your practice.

“My thoughts never stop.”

Even experienced meditators have thoughts.

The goal is not to eliminate thinking but to become less controlled by it.

“I became emotional.”

This is common.

Meditation often increases awareness of emotions that may have been ignored or suppressed.

Allow emotions to arise without judgment, and seek support if they become overwhelming.

What You Should Not Chase

One of the biggest mistakes beginners make is chasing extraordinary experiences.

They expect:

  • Visions
  • Mystical sounds
  • Miracles
  • Supernatural powers
  • Constant bliss

Ironically, this expectation creates restlessness—the opposite of what mantra practice is intended to cultivate.

Traditional teachers often advise practitioners to treat every experience—pleasant or unpleasant—as something to observe rather than cling to.

The real transformation happens gradually, through steady practice and the way it shapes everyday life.

How to Begin Your Practice

If you’re new to mantra chanting, keep it simple:

  • Firstly, practice with breathing exercises.
  • Mostly mantras are given to you by your Guru Teacher.
  • Or choose one mantra that resonates with you.
  • Preferably do not start with the expectations.
  • Please avoid starting to chant on following days or even chanting in those times Amavasya( blue moon day some mantras not all), a woman during menstruation and grahan(any eclipses), if there is any death in family, nothing between 13 to 45 days after the death.
  • Sit comfortably in a quiet place.
  • Chant slowly with attention.
  • Face to East, West, North or North East are ideal to face while chanting any mantras.
  • Focus on the sound and your breathing.
  • Practice consistently, even if only for 10–20 minutes each day.
  • Let go of expectations.

Some people chant aloud, some whisper, and others repeat the mantra silently in their minds. Any of these approaches can be beneficial when practiced with sincerity and regularity.

The Greatest Experience

When people ask, “What experiences will I get from chanting mantras?” they often expect a list of mystical events.

Yet the most meaningful transformation is usually much quieter.

It is waking up without unnecessary anxiety.

It is becoming kinder in difficult conversations.

It is finding patience where there was once frustration.

It is discovering moments of peace in the middle of a busy life.

These changes may not seem dramatic from one day to the next, but over months and years they can profoundly influence how you think, feel, and relate to the world.

Whether you approach mantra chanting as a spiritual discipline, a mindfulness practice, or simply a way to calm your mind, the key is consistency rather than expectation.

The mantra is not there to change the world around you overnight. It gently changes the way you experience the world within you. And often, that quiet inner transformation becomes the most remarkable experience of all.

The expereinces that may happen with you to you will be very unreal and you many not find any written information in any book. You may finds its refrences in vedic literature.

There will be different phases of your experiences. If you experience extreme agitation. you may seek a Gurus/relevant teachers guidance on it. Continue with meditation and do not stop with the experiences. It brings out deep seated emotions. Allow it to drain out from your body, mnd and soul. There will be no splainnation to the way you feel, Just do not stop. It will go through different phases. You may experience an extreme emotional journey. Do not try to explain this to anyone. It is a huge energy of yourself that you are not able to control. Others will not understand you. Early morning Brahma muhurta meditation will help you calm down, being with nature and maybe animals like cows will calm down your emotion but slowly you will go through the intense energy exhaustion phase and slowly you will be in control. In this phase do only what you feel is right. Do not make any decisions or get into any debate with anyone. Your brain is resetting . No one, eveny you yourself will not understand this mental chaos but as our soul journey fulfils its journey or its karmas. you will be able to calm down naturally. There are no answers to this phase other than self introspection. Stare at a lotus flower whichever your intuition says. It will help you and guide you on the path in absence of Guru.

Blood)

Fat)

Bones)

(Bone Marrow & Nervous System)

(Reproductive Tissue / Vital Energy)

Writing Resume

Dear readers / Job Seekers / Growth Seekers,

Namaste!

That one company I was looking for has posted a job opening and this time I should not miss this opportunity. I need to update my resume and send it as soon as possible. I am just not understanding how do I change and make my resume. If all this is happening with you then you have landed at right place. I believe most of you are here to understand how do I create a resume to apply for a particular job. Just a small part about myself you must know. I have been making resumes since I was in my bachelor(under graduation studies) days. I was fortunate to have a desktop computer at home and I used to work on preparing field reports for my studies. I gained good grasp on MS Office skills in very early stages. Before applying for my Master’s degree, I did apply for some local small jobs. I prepared my own resume. I used to read my father’s printed resume which he used to post on mail. I started making resume for my friends, my elder brother. Here, my formatting skills were improving every time. My friends were from diverse field so I used to sit with them interact with them on what job are they willing to apply and so on. Post my Master’s degree, I had already published my internship project. By now I was well versed on my formal writing ability. I made resume for myself and my friends and resume made by my has 100% success rate. Later I started working of freelance projects online. At this time during the break time form G.I.S. projects, I used to take small resume writing projects. My condition to make resume was I used to give them multiple versions but used to tell them that pay me when you receive an interview call. My clients have happily paid me for my job.

Basic information must on the resume in a sequence

Before going into technical aspects of preparing a resume let us first understand few aspects of resume. First and foremost, important is you are introducing yourself to an organisation or to a person who will be checking if you are the most eligible and available candidate for the role. This blog or article will be useful for any sort of resume that you are creating. There are hundreds and thousands of creative templates available for free on the internet which you can use. Templates are available but how and what to present is very important. Let us go step by step. Resume needs to speak about

  • Who are you( full name as on passport with title)?
  • Where are you(location and not exact address)?
  • What is your educational qualification?(in a sequence of descending order, degree, subject of specialisation, university name, year of passing, grade/GPA)
  • What are additional skills (supportive and relevant) that you have?
  • What is your experience in the field? (It is OK if you do not have experience as a fresher. Still having an internship project on your name will be an additional advantage.)

If all of the above questions satisfy the job description, how do we contact you?

Why not static resume?

Now, first you need to understand is for any given person there cannot be one static resume that you send it to every job opening. Even though all the above questions remain same. For example, you and your friend you both had gone to same school, same high school, further you both did same degree as well. Here, all the above questions will have same answers. Just your contact details and scoring will be different. For an instance let us consider there might me thousands and thousands of same resumes in the e-mail list of recruiters. So how do you stand out in the crowd? Remember even if your information is same, it is how well you present yourself on a piece of paper. I would give you one more example for why you should not make a static resume to be posted. Suppose you are a teacher and looking for a teaching job. Your personal details and basic skill sets will be same in all the versions of your resume but, if a particular school or HR requires any specific skillset along with your education. This becomes an opportunity to mention it. Say you are science teacher and good at sports. Here you stand out with the unique combination what you should be presenting in your resume. While if other school needs only subject teacher. Your resume should picture that you have the exact skill, that a job description/HR is looking for.

There is a 06 seconds opportunity that your resume will go through. If a recruiter opens your resume, he or she must be able to read those key words combination that he/she is looking for. If he/she sees them in your resume you will be certainly shortlisted. I would strongly request you, do not fake any of your education or skill set or certification. It is very easy to be filtered out in the process. So first have the full education, certification, experience and only then mention them in your resume. It is OK to have poor scores and stuff like that. I am not promoting to have less scores. Face it but do not fake it! You can still learn, perform better and gradually prosper. At the same time if there was a huge lay off in your previous organisation and you have lost the job in it. It is OK to have that gap. Try to be genuine with your dates of starting a particular job and finishing the job. It will be always mentioned in your release letter or experience letter. Also, if there is a gap in your career you can always give an exact reason for career gap without modifying it. This topic I will cover in interview skills make sure you do read it. Why I am mentioning this point here is whatever you mention in your resume must be genuine and nothing fake. As in personal round you might be asked on the things mentioned on your resume.

Title of the resume

People stress on title of your resume is most important part of any resume but before your resume is actually opened and checked. Recruiter or HR managers do not go on with checking one resume at a time or stuff like that. Title of your resume is important but it comes after getting shortlisted. They buy resumes in bulk from the service providers or job portals on basis of terms or keywords. Many times if the HR has asked for resume, they get huge amount of spam emails. Here, they use direct filters to find the relevant resume using keyword search and not actually go directly open and read the individual resume. On job portals there are basic three types of profiles.

You can upload your ready made resume in .doc or .pdf format or whatever is required or allowed. This is more a static one. If the job portal allows multiple versions to upload. Please upload multiple versions of your resume as you never know which keyword might struck luck to your resume and your resume may get shortlisted.

Next, they have forms that you can fill it with details right from education details to work experiences and so on. Sometimes these forms have auto-fill option as they can fetch information from your LinkedIn profile. Make sure that you recheck this auto-fill created profile again as I had seen it had created disastrous information sometimes.

Third one is mostly you are redirected on company website and fill in all the information that can be kept in their database. You can just make small changes every short interval say once in two months and so on. Dormant or unedited profiles get deleted from the server automatically from the company websites. It is bit herculean task to keep filling full information with all the details again and again. Here you can create a static resume and just copy paste all the information in the relevant places. This is going to save your lots of hard work and make it smart work.

Title of job is important when you are applying for higher position jobs in any organisation. Firstly, your resume should get shortlisted and purchased by the organisation. The static resume for form fill resume should help you do that. Later in 06 seconds test your resume title can attract the eyes/attention. For example; 5.5 years Chief Executive Manager in Drilling Technology. Here reading one line can give complete information of your experience and create that required information. There is always debate on should the high-end professionals provide education details in their resume. I would say, Yes! The reason behind is many organisations have their basic requirement of education. Like say any positions the organisation fills in only the people holding Master’s degree or doctorate. In such a case, if you opt to not to mention your educational details. Chances of your resume getting shortlisted will be comparatively less. Your resume will not be shortlisted in first stage itself. It is now made fashion kind of approach of not to mention education in resume for higher profiles but it really matters where and what is your education standard.

Most important will be all the information that you submit should be correct and updated and matching on all the sources well. Especially dates and e-mail addresses. Use one common e-mail id as point of contact. One trick is on all the job portals use same login id password as well. That simplifies your life a lot. While you are searching for a job desperately you may not even remember login credentials as you will be registering your self on so many job sites or portals.

Standout in presentation

Now that we know important key things that shall be present in the resume. Let us understand how do we present ourselves better in the resume. For an instance let us consider that there is a job opening that you found on a job portal, where you feel you are eligible and should apply for it. First thing most of the people do is they just look for number of years of experience, salary package, location, find the contact persons e-mail ID and just send the static standard resume. The chances of your resume getting shortlisted will be there but if you have done following things it will be highly assured. Read the job description well. Try and understand what the job requirement is looking for. Check who is posting it. If you have supporting information of know someone in the organisation you can just have a quick word with the person and understand what is the organisation planning. One tip here is, keep in touch with all the people on regular basis. Even when you are not looking for job. Also, be helpful to good freshers whom you have worked with and be helpful to them as well. Have a good active network with people in your field of work. It will not appear that you are just appearing when you need something. It should be also when others need your help. It is always, give and take balancing work relationships. It can also be, give and take of some kind of technical knowledge. Now a days on the job portals you can see the statistics and comparison with other people who have already applied. See what skills they have or how are they presenting their skills. If you have well read the job description your e-mail body, cover letter if they have asked and your resume should speak with those key words. Many recruiters mention what all documents they require while they want candidates to apply. Sometimes they do mention the file formats, name formats of the file. SO carefully go though all the details they want from you. If they say resume, you write resume. If they ask for cv, you say cv. Write about a project that is similar to what they are looking for in your resume, if you have worked on it. Giving more explanation on what was your role. This was our team strength; how did we approach? what was your key contribution in it? How did that help team and so on? Keep it short and simple. Now many times recruiters shortlist these types of resumes and send it to project head who has requested to take new candidate. So, if the information matches, to what they are looking for you might be called for an interview. It is as simple as that. Here the key was you studied the job description well.

Now suppose you are not having particular project experience; then how should your approach be? Here do not explain projects that you worked on where there is no keyword matching to what they are looking for. Here you can mention key skills so and so software knowledge. Mention that you know the skill. If you have not done that kind of project, they will see that you know how to handle that particular software and still your chances of resume getting shortlisted and sent forward are more.

Be Opportunist

I would quote you one more example to understand why reading job description is very important. Recently I was looking for a classical dance teacher. I found a specific group and posted my requirement saying. I am looking for online dance teacher. Message me with details. Now in reply to this I got more than 40 comments from different individuals. With due respect to all the teachers who approached me. Most of them posted a comment saying this is my WhatsApp number contact me. It may appear a correct way but if you are a real good teacher in need of students, who are willing to pay for online classes you must have a smarter approach here. Do you think I am really going to talk 40 teachers on WhatsApp? Well it can still be possible but not an ideal situation. Just to grab this opportunity, any teacher would have mentioned me in message, I am so and so person, I have Master’s in dancing in the year 20xx. Practicing for more than so many years. SO, far I have taught these many students. You will learn this this from me. You will also appear for test. This is link to my performance. This is link to my student’s performance and so on. This is exactly same thing I am stressing upon read what is job description and let your resume create opportunity for yourself.

Coming down to formatting. Few people can make a page setup and present a nice resume. If you are not having great skills on formatting it is still fine. Use these steps and you will be fine with your resume.

Open a blank document in word.

Setup page size to A4. If you do this later your all formatting goes in to toss. Do it first.

Type everything that is necessary.

Sequencing should be

Introduce yourself first.

  • Write name as it is on your passport.
  • Date of birth: DD Month, YYYY
  • Phone number with country extension,
  • Skype ID, gmail id (keep this as simple and not fancy)
  • Nationality,
  • Current address/permanent address (mail address is important)
  • Objective in career how do you see yourself performing. Write two lines not more than that. It should show your attitude towards, learning, seeking, understanding, being team player and so on.
  • Latest work experience first followed by older experience in chronologically descending order.
  • Highest education first, University name with pass out year (GPA/Grade optional to put).
  • Then you can start with education details.

If you are good in making table and formatting you can do that or just write one line. Masters of science – Geology, Pune University, India – 2007. Avoid using short forms like PGDBA, MBA, BHMS and so on. Write full form of your degree. If you are fresher you need to write percentage you scored. If it is specifically asked to mention final percentage or GPA you must not forget to mention it. Write in chronological descending order. First appears is your latest work experience then year wise older experience and later continued to education. First highest degree of education and then gradually to older. Your degree, subject of specialization, university name or board name, and year of passing is important to be mentioned.

After this you put publications or any other work that goes on your name as achievement (If the achievement is work related put it in work experience and not in this section). Try to give a chronological sequencing to it. Sometimes publication might come immediately after education or after certification. Or certification may come in the middle of the work experience. How the chronology help you is, suppose you did some two to three years of a job and you feel you might need to learn certain skill in order to grow. When you put all the information in sequential order. It gives a great attitude to your resume. It shows that you are a person who feels necessity to learn new things and you do it at right time as well. So, you are a learner. Just maintain the sections accordingly. Do not put one section work experience then one line of certification. Go with sections separately. If you are sending resume directly to HR or recruiter directly you can smartly highlight the skill that you have and skill that the job requirement is asking for.

After this you can mention certification courses that you have taken. Mention them 247 hours Business etiquette/ Personality development course from so and so institute 2013. Remember if you are using descending order for work experience use same for education, certification and so on. I prefer latest first and then follows to older. If you are applying for technical job do not mention you did glass painting course and so on here. Make it more relevant for recruiter to connect that you are most relevant candidate for this job.

Work experience

Name of previous organisation (Write it as it is in your appointment letter/release letter). Use proper caps as it is on your documents from the organisation. Last designation, Month DD, YYYY either last date of previous job or joining date since and say present job.

Roles and responsibilities, here you need to use keywords what they are looking for if you have. If you have references mention it that you may provide them if and when asked. If you have special achievement e-mails or awards on certain projects do mention it in roles and responsibilities.

Level of skills should be properly mentioned like Hands-on this software or beginner in language and so on. You always have to create opportunity for yourself.

For higher job profile generally, there is a direct phone call to the candidate on which he or she has set the favorable time. In such a case have some organised questions ready in mind. Ask for who is calling, full name? Organisation for whom the requirement is and what is the criteria they are looking for? Note it down somewhere. It will show how organised your thoughts are. At the same time do request them to drop an e-mail and get the confirmation if they have your right e-mail id. Do request to mention the job description in details. Few of the highly paid jobs are having god forbidden locations, odd working hours, extreme living conditions, which appear with very nice lucrative perks but comes with lots of hidden rules and regulations of signing bonds. Making sensible move in career is always important right from the beginning.

In the end line you may mention extracurricular activity or hobby or interest. In one line. Try not to copy paste, hobby interest from friends resume or fake the information. Sometimes people just take resume from friend who is applying for same job. Just change few key points as your identity and keep this same as it is and here you both are caught. Your fiend has written that he/she can play guitar so it can be registered in mind by recruiter and you can be easily caught. That you are not making efforts to make your own resume. Here either of you will face the consequences or both of you will face the consequences. Now that you have read this article/blog by now you should have confidence that you have all the skills and you want to present your own personality in better ways. Mostly if you say extra curricular it means while doing your studies, what other things you like to actively participate in. For fresher there can be extra curricular activities in resume, but for a working professional you must say hobby. This part actually highlights your attitude towards life. Which is part of your personality beyond education and work.

Once the typing part is done. Read it again and again and read job description simultaneously. See if your resume is in accordance with the job description. You can give it to read to any of your family member and get suggestion on it. Once typing part is done then comes text formatting part. Select all text and make it size 11, font use Times New Roman. This is basic that is used for any formal writing. Then identify headlines and you can increase its size  to 12 or 13 depending on sub headings. Bullet it if you have enlisted certain things.

Photo specifications

If they have asked for photo. You can add a photo in the resume or can attach it in email as per their requirement. Make sure that your face appears proper, both the ears appear clear. It should not be very old picture. Do not put any fancy picture from any party or picnic. It is not what you like about yourself. It should be presentable. Keep a mild smile on face in picture. Picture should not be in dark and red eye. Better if plain background with white light on face.

After formatting it should not go beyond one page. At the best 2 pages not beyond that unless they have asked for specific explanatory information. You can insert a table and write in each cell so that space utilization can be done. Later you can hide all borders of table. Sky is the limit in formatting.

References

In the end you can mention key important people references. Or you can say ready references available. For references these can be any people whom you have worked with. Who knows how skilled you are? How they can endorse your skills. You provide their Full name, Name of organisation with designation they are currently working with and contact number and email id. Remember, if you are mentioning ‘X’ persons reference in your resume that ‘X’ person should be aware that you are giving their contact details in a job application. In case of an international job opportunity if you mention cellular number give a time zone and a best time to reach the person.

Interactions on Social Media

Lastly name the document appropriately. Name_XYZ-Job-Opening.doc. Few more tips before we conclude. Do not use latest file format of word, you may use 98-2000. Check if the posting has asked for file.pdf file accordingly attach and send the relevant file. Your data in resume and in LinkedIn or any other job posting should match exactly. Be more professional in maintaining LinkedIn profile. Avoid interacting on the post irrelevant for the space. Big organisations do check how is your attitude on social media in public platforms. You can arrange public view settings accordingly. Be sensitive towards, on what you are interacting and how you carry yourself or how is your attitude on a social platform. Interacting on a funny cat’s video on Facebook might be still fine than doing it on LinkedIn. Use of particular platform should be smartly used, still on user discretion.

Introductory Video

Certain times there is requirement of an introductory video. I will write a separate blog or article on how to make this introductory video. At times we feel very odd to post such introductory video where you have all your relatives or friends following you. Thanks to format of social media you can either load it in the drive and share the viewing link to limited people. At the same time, you can upload the video and allow its viewing to custom audience only. To know more details do follow and read my other blogs which might be useful for your career growth in all different phases of career.

Remember these basic steps

First update your LinkedIn profile. Then write down a draft of your resume what all information you wish to present in your resume? Make a organised document of all the relevant information. Keep your supporting documents and information ready. Make a local drive and a drive associated with your email that has scan copies in .pdf format. Keep one email id to manage your all the applications and conversation or communication details.

How to compile and email draft for application?

Once your basic steps are in place and you have created your resume. Whenever there is a job post relevant to you. Read it carefully. Study it well. Write your email like a letter writing.

To,

HR recruitment team or if you know the full persons name of person, Full name of organisation, Designation, Location,

Subject: Application for vacant position of job title.(Copy paste same subject in subject of email)

Opening greeting,

Quick synopsis of who you are(name with title as on passport)? Where you are? Residency validity status if you have any international visa? How and where did you come across this opening? (In detail – if you saw an advertisement in news paper say xyz news paper, published on DDMM, YYYY, weekday on this on page that is under this section) and express your willing ness to apply for the said position. If this email is coming after any conversation or if some one has asked to send you resume personally it should start with the reference. As discussed over phone, here is my cv with all the details that you have asked. Let me give you quick introduction about me and so on.

In next paragraph you mention all what they are looking for and your skillset in short. Email should have requesting tone. Please have look at my cv/resume/ LinkedIn profile for all the details on my career and education details. Feel free to ask for more information on my career profile. You can play with words in short and simple ways you like.

Keywords should be present in resume as well as email body of the email. Mention that you aw willing to or have successfully done and so on. If you are fresher mostly use willing to do this willing to do that or wish to participate in so and so. Try to accentuate your profile with words and skills that you have relevant to job. Experience professional if applying for bigger firms then mention how good leader you are and still a good team player. Second last paragraph should not be just sweet coated but try to pen down your real skills in own words.

Last paragraph should be asking your willingness to meet the recruiter or manager in person and discuss on the role. Also mention that you are witting for the response from them.

Closing salutations.

Read the email again. Certain spelling mistakes or grammatical errors may not be caught despite of all the facilities. Try to read as recruiter or HR. Ensure you have all the details mentioned. If there is references required then do mention before last paragraph. If there are lots of documents that needs to be attached. Then enlist them in email and attach them in the sequence. As mentioned in the list. Check email ids who should be in To and who should be in cc. Once you are done checking, finally send the resume.

Pangat System of Eating food.

What is the definition for evolution? Trying to use more advanced tools and techniques shows the evolution. Well this is just a standard available definition. It is all about the brain and its progressive activities. As you read the post you will realise the definition of evolution is not really what we are experiencing.

When I used to attend any functions. I remember in my childhood days we used to eat in the Pangat system. What is this pangat system? For those who don’t know. Like today we have banquet halls and buffet gala dinners. Earlier there used to be a function area under the pandals. There used to be a dining area under the pandal.  Everyone in olden days used to wash their hands and come and sit to eat food. Food is ready on one side of function. So, this pandal is basically divided into sections. Function area, food preparation area and dining area. By the time the function is over. Food is freshly cooked at the function venue by traditional caterers. 95% it is vegetarian meals. The moment function is over. People will finish, greetings, gifting, photo sessions and then move to the dining area. In the olden days dining will be sitting on the floor in parallel lines. First the plates will be placed and then people who serve will start serving the food in sequence along with water. The thali is a full menu cooked at the venue right from salads, main course and sweet dish everything from scratch. Check my blog on Thali – understanding food. The serving persons will do rounds. They will keep rotating all the items. Food is not taken by the guests’ own hands. Food is served by the servers. The quantity of serving is small portions but not limited. You can take as many times you like any item. But serving portions will always be small. The food is also seasonal, traditional and regional. There is a system who sits in the first line up. The cooks of the function will always finish eating first. Later as event guests in the sequence of kids, elderly people, women and then rest of the people will sit in the pangat lines. The hosts will be walking along with servers and insist guests to eat full and take more. They may occasionally serve an extra sweet dish to your plate. There will be asan. A long strip of cloth for all to sit on the ground. From sitting on the ground, it changed to sitting on tables and chairs. Rest of the system was still the same. Everyone will sit in lines.

The time used to be followed strictly. Kids who need parental assistance will sit with parents. Then as per the tradition of thali serving will start. Either there will be caterers to serve or the hosts participate in turn to serve. Serving sequence goes traditionally and not haphazardly. Serving basics remains the same. It starts from left hand side of the thali as you are eating the thali so on Top left corner in clockwise arrangement, it starts with, salt, lemon, salad, chutney/s, pakora or fried items, then one watery (with gravy) vegetable, one dry vegetable, lentil soup /daal till then we have reached at top right corner it will be always sweet dish in this corner. As we enter the inner circle there are two scoops of rice one has daal with ghee over it and the other one will have curd/yogurt on it. Then there will be chapati/bread. The person serving will serve very little portion of the food. No one will touch food until full thali is served along with water. Then everyone will recite prayer and then start the food. There is one person who keeps coordinating and keeping an eye on the process. Sometimes the serving person stands and chit chats with the guest, which hampers the flow of the serving particular item. The food serving persons will keep going in rounds and keep adding whatever anybody finishes or needs. In the villages there used to be plates made of collage of leaves. These are called patrawali.

For auspicious occasions mostly food will be served on banana leaves. Serving was repeated but not in big portions. The host will take rounds and insist on having more sweets to be served to the guests. This is a kind of hospitality manners for guests to feel loved and respected in a public forum.  There would be no non vegetarian item or alcoholic beverages served in these pangat. Not even any carbonated packaged cold drinks. Once the person finishes eating food they will pick up the food dropped outside the plate, along with a glass and spoon and remove the food in a place kept in one big vessel meant for the garbage food bin. While putting plates for washing by himself or herself. Then the next pangat will sit and then the plates and sequence follows. This time those who have finished eating in the first round of pangat will take charge of serving. food In the Indian pangat system the server goes to each person, moves to each person sitting and asks and serves food. Hair must be tied up, no loose clothes. Before serving, hands must be washed well. This system also ensures that the person eating gets whatever he/she wants. Without getting up from one place. In this case no one touches the food serving units directly. All five star hotels during the pandemic had someone to serve at buffet counters. The system of a dedicated person to serve is coming back again.

Once I attended a pangat system very recently. There was a non Indian lady looking or monitoring the pangat system. Her concept wise she was watching everyone’s plate and was sending servers as per what she felt someone was needing the food item. This says that the pangat system is so related to culture that even if a person is replaced in the process everything changes. The outcome changes and interpretation of guest changes. There was another non Indian very old lady in the same pangat shouting that she needed more okra vegetable. She doesn’t want anything. She just used to pile up the vegetables on her plate. As per tradition if you like something you can ask for 10 times and you will get it 10 times but the server will not give anything to you in bulk portions at a time. As the lady was sitting next to me, I explained to her that this is the system. Unless you finish the existing portion, the server will not put more food on your plate.  So, finish and ask for more. They will happily serve you. Finally she agreed and did as I mentioned.

Only the cook  with his or her helping staff is supposed to enter the cooking area and the host to check on the making status or if they need any item to be brought. In the earlier days the pangat system in the entire Indian subcontinent was sitting on the floor. Slowly it changed from floor to long tables and chairs. Still the system remained more or less the same.

The Pangat system ensures that food is finished in less than two hours and the rest of the program is carried out. So, if there is some entertainment program arranged, everyone will attend. If food is set to be finished from this time to this time. It will be carried out at the same time. On the invitation card it used to mention function time and food time on it. Entire public present will be sitting for food. In recent years the functions started this buffet system. In the buffet system everyone touches the serving spoons. People tend to serve more food and fill plates of children and sitting arrangements go on toss. While everyone does not get premium seats to sit. From start to end people are just eating starters, snacks and dinner. Mixing food. While the program gets a messy feel where nothing appears to be in sync. Also it does not fulfil the correct way of eating food habits. Pangat system ensures least food wastage. In today’s world where diet, plans, and fitness are taken care of. Soon the people will have to switch to this traditional system. Today’s function ensures you are eating and drinking Right from the time you enter the venue. Whilst the entire evening you just keep hogging over the food, from start to end. If you are a health conscious person. Please read  my blog on understanding food. It will help you understand if the current way of functions and celebrations is better or traditional ways are better. Here I am a bit confused on the definition of evolution. Either the definition is incorrect or the current adaptations of celebrations need to be appended.

Even if I remember those functions I attended, The taste of those dishes still lingers over my mind. Most of the time it used to always be black-eyed kidney beans, potato and brinjal vegetables with jalebi, gulab jamun, rasmalai or Ice Cream as sweet and during summers we used to get freshly made butter milk or jal jeera or panha or sarbat to drink. The buffet it is difficult to get a chair, hold the plate in hand and eat. Even if you manage to get the chair a senior citizen or a lady with a toddler may appear with a sympathetic face and you being a good person you would end up giving up your chair and hold the plate in hand, stand and eat. The most important part of an Indian function or celebration is nice colourful dresses, fresh flowers decorations to welcome guests, music, dance, return gifts and belly full with amazing food.

Luckily in my household we have one and half days of Ganpati celebration where our entire family comes together. We still practice the Pangat system at home. There is traditional thali is served on banana leaves. This traditional practice is still followed in temples and gurudwaras (Langars) where fresh food is made and served to everyone for free of cost in the Pangat system. Anyone rich and poor will sit in the same line and get the same unlimited food. My own culture is a mystery and magic for me. The more I see the outside world, the more I like its traditional ways. What do you feel? Next time I host. I am arranging only the pangat system. I want to make people happy and content. What do you feel? Do you like to sit and eat your food or do you like to stand and eat with a plate in hand?

If you have pictures of pangat system you attended. Please send me on kanchanz.tr@gmail @03kanchan I would love to share those orignal pictures on my blog. The pictures or video cliping where you can see people preparing and also serving food in apngat system. Why I would love to share? Because I am part of that culture and society.

What do you need?
