What is this vaman and virechan? All the dirt loosened in previous procedures is brought to the nearest draining gate. This dirt may be removed in sweat in vomit or in the form of loose motions etc. For vaman and virechan dirt is already brought to the nearest vent in the body.

Vaman:

Depending upon the persons body requirement and illness along with dominating dosha examination with pulse vaman procedure is done. This type of procedure is mostly done for people having skin problems, acidity, asthama etc. Problems those are dominating in upper half of digestive parts are given Vamn procedure. In this a herbal extract call kadha, is given to drink with milk and a person undergoing treatment or therapy and is made to do vomiting. In this the number of vomits is counted, material coming out of vomit is monitored. This vomiting removes all the impurity and throws it out of body. This procedures are strictly done under the doctors examination who practices Ayurvedic healing methods.

Virechan:

Removal of dirt from the lower half of digestive system is know as virechan procedure. This is mostly give to people who has more for pitta dosha in body. Similar to Vaman here also there is a herbal kadha which is uniquely combined post tongue examination and pulse examination by practicing doctor. Your tongue is mirror to the intestine. if it appears proper pinkish purple and clear it says your intestine is clean and so on. Skin problems, skin allergies, pitta dosha, headaches, itchy lumps growing on body, jaundice and piles etc. This is all also monitored, what all is getting removed with number of loose motions that are passed and what material is excreted is asked to be self monitored.

Basti:

Generally term basti means to keep. This is mostly given to people with waat dosh dominating in body. It is an herbal kadha mixed with oil based enema(injecting via anus). A patient is asked to lie down for a few hours. In this the oil based herbs enter into large intestine and all the dried stool sucked inside is loosen. Oil is absorbed by the inner tissues of intestine. This therapy is good for waat dosh reduction, joint pains, relief from west or lower back pains, bone related problems, intestinal problems etc.

Nasya:

Medicinal oils or churna drops are introduced in the nasal tract. This therapy is good for brain palsy, sinus, also gives relief from other brain related problems.

Rakta Mokshan/Blood Purification :

As I said earlier that all the procedures in PanchKarma may appear bizzare or sound bizzare but these are time tested and practiced for over more than 5000 years. You need not have a doubt on it, even a tiniest doubt which may be in parts per million of fraction of Nano sized particle. This blood purification is removal of impure blood from your body. In Ayurveda a hermaphrodite, which is an organism that has male and female both reproductive systems in itself are used. Its a variety of Leech that is used in this procedure. Leeches are know to suck impure blood form the body. For example people suffering with extreme diabetes who gets gangrene. In such cases these leech helps to remove this infected or dirt from the blood from the wound. This procedure is again done under the examination of ayurvedic doctors and as per the intensity and necessity for patient.

All the procedures above are done only after analysing your pulse and dominating dosha of waat, kapha and pitta or their combination type along with severity of illness by Ayurveda practicing doctors only.
